Datasets / Products

We offer datasets for various types of products, including Posed People (static scans), Rigged People, Animated People (with motion capture data applied), or volumetric captures. You can find a complete overview of all datasets as well as product catalogs here.

This highly depends on the dataset that you are interested in. Generally speaking, we would like to emphasize that within any dataset we can always create a partial selection for you that meets your requirements in terms of ethnic, age, sex and bodyshape diversity, as well as with regard to poses or clothing.

You can find more details about our different datasets and product catalogs here. Moreover, for out newest, most diverse and fastest-growing dataset (Posed NewGen), you can find a complete overview of diversity characteristics of all scanned individuals in this dataset here.

If you would like more details, the easiest way is to talk to us personally about your individual requirements. You can contact us here.

Yes, we have the possibility to put together a dataset according to your requirements.

We can combine different product types, provide a specific subset of certain models or individuals, as well as offer other suitable extras such as metadata, multiview images, point cloud data and more. Learn more about our extras here.

We also have thousands of scans available in our database that have not yet been turned into final products. Perhaps you could make use of the multiview images from these scans, or we can prioritize certain scans in our production for you.

You can contact us here.

Yes, of course! We offer sample data for all our products. You can get them here.

In addition to that, please feel free to contact us if you have any additional specific requirements for samples or if you would like to test some of the extra features that we offer along with some of the datasets.

All our 3D models are exclusively scanned, either using photogrammetry technology or volumetric video. This means our 3D models correspond to the real world. Behind every 3D model is a real person with real clothing and a real pose, for whom we have captured real-world metadata.

None of our 3D models have been synthetically generated by AI. In fact, this makes our products ideal for training ML models for the purpose of synthetic 3D human avatar creation. You can find some references here.

Yes, for most of our datasets, we can offer you both the entire set of multiview images from our photogrammetry system and the unedited ultra high-quality meshes for each individual model. Especially for our latest datasets, Posed NewGen, Posed PLUS, and Bodyshape, we can offer rich additional data.

And there is more. Learn more about all our extras here.

We do not offer naked scans. However, we have captured bodyshape scans for all individuals scanned since 2022. Bodyshape scans are body shape emphasizing scans in skin-tight thin sportswear.

Technical Details / 3D Models

Yes we do, some of our datasets are PBR ready. Specifically, our latest datasets, Posed NewGen, Posed PLUS, and Bodyshape do include PBR ready textures.

We offer a large selection of different file formats and can provide you with the right ones according to your needs, such as:

3ds Max, Maya, Blender, Unreal Engine 5, Unity, Rhino, SketchUp, Cinema 4D, OBJ, FBX, GLB

However, the exact file formats available differ depending on the dataset and can be viewed here for each dataset.

All our 3D models are scanned, including the clothing. This also applies to the Rigged People dataset. This means that the clothing is highly realistic. However, it also means that the clothing is integrated with the rest of the 3D model, not placed as a separate mesh over the 3D body.

You can download sample models for all our datasets here to give you a precise technical insight.

No, there's no comprehensive documentation about our workflows. Our experience shows that this is not necessarily effective and expedient.

We have had great experiences with answering such individual and specific questions in a video call or via e-mail. This often results in better and more precise answers compared to general documentation.

Price / Purchase

We cannot list general prices on the website. The reason is that the price depends on many factors, including:

The type of product, the number of 3D models and the associated volume discount, the number and type of additional extras purchased, whether it is an academic or commercial license, whether the license can be extended to subsidiaries, and whether there are any special conditions related to the license that fall outside of our regular terms of use.

Please contact us here with your inquiry to receive an official quote.

Yes, we also offer licenses at discounted rates for the academic community if you are a research institute, university, or college.

Please contact us here with your inquiry to receive an official quote.

Yes, we do. Volume discounts are an integral part of pricing. Many customers often buy more than 500 or even a thousand models for ML purposes. We offer an attractive price scale for the purchase of large quantities.

Please contact us here with your inquiry to receive a personalized quote.

Yes, we do offer partial datasets. However, the sale of one individual model is not usual.

For example, all Posed People datasets combined include far more than 5000 models. We can put together a specific subset from all these models according to your personal criteria, for example in terms of number of models, according to certain diversity characteristics, or in terms of extra features.

You can find a complete overview of all datasets as well as product catalogs here. And You can contact us here.

Yes, of course. Please contact us here with your inquiry. After we have clarified all content-related questions, you will receive an individual offer from us.

We see ourselves as a service provider and are happy to adapt to your individual procurement processes. This includes onboarding into supplier systems or participating in bidding procedures.

However, the standard process for a purchase is as follows:
Inquiry --> Discussion of details --> Quotation --> Acceptance of the quotation and signing of the license agreement --> Delivery of data --> Invoicing

Licence

Yes, definitely! You will receive a license agreement tailored to your specific needs, which grants you all the necessary rights to use the 3D models for training and testing machine learning models, simulation, and other similar applications.

We obtain the explicit consent of our models for this purpose and act in accordance with Articles 6(1) and 9(2) to utilize personal and health-related metadata, specifically for ML.

Yes, we can grant you a license for this.

Yes, we generally have no issues with publishing such data in an academic context, provided that third party commercial use of the secondary data is prohibited and that the original 3D source files are not disclosed.

Please contact us with your specific requirements.

Yes, with every person we have recorded, we have signed a comprehensive model release agreement and secured all necessary rights.

This includes, among other things, compliance in alignment with Articles 6(1) and 9(2) to utilize personal and health-related metadata, specifically for ML.

Please contact us here if you have any further questions.

Our data has been used for the creation of open source datasets such as the popular AGORA dataset before. The Agora dataset includes 2D RGB renders, 2D depth maps, 2D segmentation masks, and joint pose information, which were created based on our 3D models.

Our source data, i.e. the actual 3D models from Renderpeople (HumanDataset), were not and may not be disclosed. Of course we have an interest in protecting this data from unauthorized use.

Please contact us here if you have any further questions.

Yes, they can. This use case is covered by our terms.

Yes, absolutely. This use case is covered by our terms.

Yes, this use case is covered by our terms. While we do not specifically mention image recognition, we do allow the creation of datasets or synthetic data for the purpose of training machine learning models for Computer Vision in general.
